A Quick Trip up the Coast

I took my family up the coast slightly to stay in Ventura beach while I second shot a wedding with Matthew David Studio over in Santa Barbara. We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Ventura Beach that Provided a Spectacular View of the beach and pier, I would recommend staying there if you are in the area. Just a short walk down to the pier was this little taco shop called Beach House Tacos, this is a must have. I ordered a shrimp taco which was delicious and fully loaded with toppings. Easily one of the best shrimp tacos I have ever had.

The Back Up Plan - Glamis Imperial Sand Dunes

The original plan for shooting was to visit Downtown San Diego, but after some thought the plan was changed to the abandoned train station in El Centro. However after doing some research while on the way to El Centro, I found information online that stated the train station had been demolished.  Since Ben and I were already 30 min into the drive we decided to head to Glamis. Doing so was perfect because the Moon was going to be out in full force.

Escaping the Heat

In order to escape the heat of the Coachella valley, I opted to take the family to San Diego for fathers day. San Diego has become one of our favorite places to visit. With the good 30 degree difference between palm desert and san diego, the difference in temperature was a nice retreat.

My beautiful wife.

My beautiful wife.

I have a hard time passing up a beautiful classic VW. Many of you may not know that I run VwObsessionSocal on Instagram which a popular outlet for all of my VW related images.

I really love the above image of the father and his daughter playing on the beach. This moment is especially special due to it being taken on fathers day.

Finished the day at Coronado brewing company with a refreshing Orange Ave beer. The food here was absolutely amazing and some of the best I ever had. If you ever get a chance to check it out the Cajun Shrimp Tacos were awesome.

On our way home , I had to take the opportunity to at least attempt the beautiful sight. The moon was rising over the mountain during the sunset, however I did not have any longer lenses that would been able to better isolate the moon as the subject. None the less I feel the above image was able to capture the beauty of the moment.
